Facebook is gone, finito, terminated .. and all of the other fun adjectives you could think of at this moment in time; at least for this summer. At approximately 9:35, Friday the 29th of October, my password was changed and the challenge began!

I'm massively excited about undertaking some of these tasks that i have set for myself (the final list is still being prepared, but I'm starting to put the wheels into motion for a lot of them) .. which leads me to the first achievement. Playing Laser Tag in a Suit.

For anyone who doesn't immediately pick up on the pop culture reference, it's a shout out to Barney Stinson, resident legend of the TV show How I Met Your Mother and the epitome of cool. One of his greatest constant undertakings is playing laser tag in a suit, albeit against childish opposition (in fact, one of the earlier episodes balances around him being kicked out for beating on children too many times) until he begs Ted, and later Robin to play.

I've always wanted to do this (play laser tag in a suit, not beat up on children), and with my Youth Group heading out to NRG Force in Thomastown for Laser Tag, i was presented with the perfect opportunity to have a brilliant start to my bucket list. One day down, and one achievement marked off.

I convinced my brother to suit up to join in the fun with me, and soon after we left for the fine establishment of lasers and other excellent things.

Intrigued by the Moustaches?

A last minute decision of hilarity on our way out the door, it can be put down to a potentially unlimited number of factors. As many of you know, Movember is soon to be on our doorstep and we were just getting our practice mustaches ready .. or maybe it was a slight nod to Moustache Marshall (the greatest of all doppelgangers) .. or perhaps we simply wanted to look like characters out of Underbelly or 1980's cop drama's. Whatever the reasoning you choose to believe we went with, it definitely made my day.

As we crammed into the packed out NRG force building (we brought almost 50 people!) there were many laughs being had at my brother and I's appearance. The mustaches went down a treat .. despite being described by one person as 'the seediest thing I have ever seen'.

Finally we got underway, starting off with the spirited skirmish of a free-for-all! Unfortunately the power of the mustache was too great, and my gun didn't work for 10 minutes .. I still managed to eke out a 20th/30th placings, a disappointing finish regardless of machine malfunctions.

As you can probably see from the photo on the right .. Suits are not made for battle scenes, even pretend ones, especially those combinations known as the 'Savers Specials'. It's exhausting work, running around essentially a massive maze trying to duck and weave through 'laser shots' whilst also looking amazing.

It is also now my personal opinion that if every single sporting team in Australia trained in a cheap suit, apart from the side effect of at least being 15-20% more attractive, our fitness levels would go through the roof. I should contact the AIS about my discovery .. I digress.

To round off the night, I collected a few high placings (5th, 6th and 12th) whilst enjoying the arcade. Unfortunately, during a .. spirited game of air hockey, my moustache fell off after a particularly vibrant celebration. All's well that ends well however.

Thus, having accomplished what i set out to do, it leaves 29 more things to do before the summer is out.

I hope you're all having as much awesomeness as i've had this weekend,
God Bless.
Jimmy.
